Hello loves!!
What a day, what a day!! It was a total blast but it literally felt like I was on the go and on my feet for a bazillion hours straight! Not to mention COLD!! I’m not a cold weather type of girl, but I’m used to it as I live in Cincinnati. However, this cold was like cruel and unusual punishment. Trying to walk between shows was brutal because even though you want to cry you have to keep on pushing because thats the only way you’re going to make it to warmth. But I digress.
Since it was back to back shows and events I didn’t have time to change, so I had to wear the cocktail dress I had to wear to my very last appearance all day long. To take my little red dress from day to night I paired a metallic pin stripe blazer over it and because of the weather and the extra standing/walking I switched between faux Uggs and black suede heel boots.
First it was off to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center where I saw Son Jung Wan and Mara Hoffman’s shows. Then I headed to Chelsea where I grabbed a bite to eat at New York Burger… which P.S. and by the way, best and messiest burger I’ve ever had!
Then I booked it a couple blocks to see Christian Siriano’s New York Fashion Week show at Eye Beam. I thought for certain I was going to lose all my toes here as did everyone else, and the thought of having to give away all my peep toe stilettos was enough to start a riot. They made everyone that had a standing invite wait in the wet and cold for 45 minutes… yes, 19 degree wet weather and we were forced to stand for 45 minutes!!! Unacceptable! Siriano’s show was beyond amazing as expected, but still not cool to stand in the cold. Spotted at his show were two of my favorite fashion lovers, Brad Goreski and Ashlee Simpson!
After Siriano’s show I found somewhere to defrost before heading back into the windy cold to walk several blocks to the Lulus.com New York Fashion Week Style Event. This event was amazing! So many great people, free drinks, free goodies (I’ll show you guys all my swag in a blog coming soon)!! While I was there I got my nails done (watch out for them in tomorrow’s Manicure Monday on ModCityMag.com) and feathers added to my hair 🙂
Then I headed to my last event of the night, The Reality of FASHION, The Reality of AIDS reality star runway show where I mingled with the stars, walked the red carpet and watched a great collection strut down the runway. If you know me, I love all things Real Housewives, so I was super excited when celebrity hairstylist, Derek J, from the Real Housewives of Atlanta sat just three chairs down from me!! P.S. I didn’t think Lil Kim’s plastic surgery was nearly as bad as Us Weekly made it out to be last Thursday… just sayin!
Sunday is another day of shows, but luckily I’ll have a break between sets of them to see a little bit of NYC, catch up on blogging and, of course, a little resting.
xoxo,
Amy
Ahhh so fun!! Despite the weather I’m soooo jealous you got to go to fashion week! I can’t wait to hear how the rest of your week went 🙂
