Hello loves!
Man, where has this week gone? Is it just me or as we approach the holidays the weeks just go by faster and faster? It’s hard not to get swept away in the day to day madness.
This week was a pretty fun week for me. On Monday night I had the chance to attend Buddy Valastro: The Cake Boss Tour which he is doing across the country to promote his latest book, “Family Celebrations with Cake Boss: Recipes for Get-Togethers Throughout the Year.”
One of my best friends, Ashley, and I had a blast at this event! They weren’t kidding when they said it was going to be a fun interaction experience for the whole family. Buddy shared stories of what is currently happening in his life, cracked a few jokes, demonstrated live cake decorating techniques and then held fun and silly contests to give away the just decorated goodies. Let me tell ya folks, those aren’t camera tricks on his tv show during those decorating races… He really is that fast! Check out this video I took of him icing this cupcake!
After the show Ashley and I headed next door to our favorite downtown restaurant, Nada, for some dinner. Seriously, this place is a must if you find yourself in downtown Cincinnati! Another foodie gem tucked in downtown? Jimmy G’s the food there is unbelievable!
I also had a chance to finally grab dinner with another lovely lady this week! Fellow local fashion blogger, Kelly Lund of Dream in Lace and I got to catch up while noshing at Seasons 52. Which by the way, was amazing and it made it even more amazing when we found out that every single item on the menu consists of fresh ingredients all that clock in at 475 calories or less! Um, hello! I think I just found my go-to place for all my lunch and dinner meetings so I can stay on track.
Here’s a few photos from our dinner…
Sticking with what has turned out to be a food theme (story of my life, ha ha ha) of this blog, I also spent time this week going through recipes and compiling my final menu for Thanksgiving! I love to cook and I absolutely just adore cooking for a dinner party, even if it is just close family for a holiday. This Thanksgiving menu will consist of my famous top secret roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, corn casserole (Paula Deen style, of course), sweet potato soufflé, green bean casserole and pretzel rolls. My mouth is watering just thinking about all the yummy goodness!
What are you planning to cook this Thanksgiving?
xoxo,
Amy
Love the picture you took of the fire! I have told so many people how great Seasons 52 is. I want to go back already! Looking forward to jags 🙂
