Hello loves!
I’m sure most of you have heard of the mail subscription service, Birchbox. If not, Birchbox is a service that delivers luxe beauty samples to your door once a month for only $10. After researching many beauty mail subscription services and spend many hours on YouTube watching “haul” videos of the different services I decided to go with Birchbox. I received my very first Birchbox on Valentine’s Day… I know, perfect timing!
Since Birchbox notifies you by email when your box has been sent and also provides you with a tracking number I knew my box was going to be delivered on Valentine’s Day. So of course it seemed like forever before the mailman came because I was excited to see what was in my first box. The box that it is shipped in is the perfect shade of hot pink and unfolds to reveal the cute box that houses all your new goodies. Everything was neatly wrapped in tissue paper, which made it feel like you were getting a nice present. This is what was inside.
The first thing I found was a parfum sample of Juicy Couture in Viva la Juicy (not pictured). The size was a micro pump tube, which is great for several uses plus the perfect size to just throw in your purse for those days you realize you forgot to apply perfume. At first smell I wasn’t too impressed with the scent, but by the time I got done going through the box I kind of liked the scent. The welcome card that describes everything in the box says the scent notes include wild berries, a hint of mandarin with soft floral notes that create a fragrance that is fun and happy.
The second thing I pulled out of the box was the Eye Rock designer liner. I was pretty excited to see this because I have been seeing stick-on liner strips for several months on many beauty segments, blogs and articles, so I was happy to give them a try. That is until I opened the package. These liner strips are ridiculously huge! You get four different liner looks in each package and they all looked like they should have been called, “The Amy Winehouse Collection.” I am not exaggerating when I say they cover most of the surface of my eyelids and extend well beyond my eyebrows. This was a big disappointment.
Inside the tissue wrapped bundle tied with the black ribbon contained several goodies. There was two packs of designer fashion tape, Showstoppers, you get a nude pair and a black pair; Colorscience Pro’s glow and go travel puff and a small tube of hot pink lip gloss by Jouer. I am really excited about all of these because I will be traveling to Charleston, South Carolina next month so these are all perfect for chic and fashionable traveling. I’m interested to see how the glow and go travel puffs actually do, the concept is really cool. They claim to be handy, powder-filled puffs that keep your skin shine-free and luminous while you’re out of town. So we shall see how they perform while I’m out of town on business. I am over the moon with the pink gloss by Jouer because I have been looking for a gloss just like this for a while now, and what do you know? The perfect gloss found me. π
Once I get a chance to try everything I will let you know how well I liked or disliked these products. For now they’re sitting in my travel toiletry bag waiting to board the plane toΒ Charleston Fashion Week.
xoxo, Amy
Sounds good! Maybe you were meant to cut, or press out the eye-liner?

Thanks for the idea, Nicole! I don’t think they’re meant to be cut, but I will try cutting them… cause they’re definitely a tad outrageous (even for me!).
