In a few days I am departing on a road trip to spend the Fourth of July with my good friend, Amanda, at her parents’ lake house in the Ozarks. I’m tickled this is becoming an annual event. She, her parents, and her partner, David, are all just really good people who make everything a good time.
I know, you’re thinking, “Amy? Amy Wray in the Ozarks? In nature?” I promise you this isn’t a sign of the end of times. Last year I fell in love with the Ozarks and I’m not going to lie… It’s absolutely glorious to get away to a beautiful place that has horrible cell and Internet service. Going almost completely off the grid for a few days of bobbing in water is my idea of relaxing.
As I’m getting ready to head there this year I’ve been looking at different hairstyles. No, I don’t plan on getting all pretty to spend my days boating and floating… I’m talking functional hairstyles that don’t look atrocious while being super simple to create. My hair is really long and mermaid like with purple and teal throughout my mop. It’s so long I only have visions of my hair getting into a tied and tangled giant mess as it attempts to blow in the wind. Not a cute look and even worse trying to detangle. Here are a few hairstyles I plan on rocking at the lake… click on the photos for tutorials of each hairstyle.
The Low Braided Bun
The Knotted Pony
The Messy Top Knot
So those are the hairstyles I come across for beating the summer heat while not looking like a total hot mess. ha ha ha
