There’s just something about red rose this time of year
What a week it’s been. I already wasn’t looking forward to it because Thanksgiving was the last holiday celebrated with Poppy last year. I definitely wasn’t expecting this week to go the way it panned out, though. Back story: About two months ago I noticed a spot on Big’s right eyelid, but it didn’t bother him so I decided to keep an eye on it. Saturday morning I woke up to him with blood around his eye from scratching it open. If he could cause it to bleed it was time to make an appointment. Monday I took him to his appointment and we decide it’s best to remove it now before it got any bigger or started scratching the surface of his eyeball. During the examination the vet discovered three spots suspicious enough to remove while he was under, two of those possibly being melanoma. Yesterday Big had surgery to remove the mass on his eye and a cancerous looking cyst from his armpit area. The two spots she was concerned could be melanoma managed to disappear between Monday and Wednesday. Today I am beyond grateful this little nugget is still in my life and still a feisty fighter. I’m thankful for the extra snugs with my nug and for the vet finding and removing the other potentially damaging spots. We’re both thankful for cbd to help take the pain’s edge off between pain med doses. P.S. We’re both over the cone head life. One day down and 13 more to go. A soft cone is currently on its way to our doorstep.
A little happy hour after work
